MeowStack #53: Fritz will stare straight into your soul
His eyes reflect the wisdom of universes
MeowStack is always looking for new kitties to feature. Featured kitties are never sponsored, and we don’t charge for submissions. We just want to meet your cat! Finally, a way to give your feline overlord the respect, admiration, and worship they so obviously deserve:

What is your name, and why are you the most magnificent creature in the universe?
My name is Fritz, but my mom calls me Fritzy or Kitty Cat or Kitty Kitty or Kit, and my dad calls me Fritzy Fritz. I’m the most magnificent creature in the universe because my mom tells me so almost every day, which kind of nauseates my dad. I think it’s because I lavish her with my affections near constantly and I stare straight into her soul (and hold the stare).

How did you choose your human to be your supplicant?
Mom and Dad came into the local SPCA shelter early in the pandemic, and I was the only cat allowed to be uncaged in the cat room. I did a full court press, following them relentlessly as they went from cage to cage checking out my competition. I purred loudly the whole time (my shelter name? Big Purr) and always managed to find their hands so they were forced to pet me. I homed in on these two suckers quite literally because half an hour later, I was home. They never stood a chance.

What is the most amusing way you confound your human?
From October-April every year, my mom loses me to the fireplace the way some wives lose their husbands to football season. I’m so obsessed, my mom and dad often wake to find me staging a “sleep-in” atop the cooled fireplace in the morning, demanding it be lit.

By what means will you inevitably achieve world domination?
This house is my world, and I’m the alpha. Domination achieved.

What are your three most glorious attributes (so that we may worship you in a manner befitting your greatness)?
I’m super expressive with my front legs, spreading or splaying them out in an adorable variety of ways. I’m also “handsy” with mom, often lovingly wrapping my front legs around her neck when she’s holding me.
I growl at delivery and service men. Often the only way mom or dad know someone is here is because they hear me growl first. Security is very important to me, and dad often leaves me in charge when they go out. (I also growled at the earthquake we had in 2024).
I am amazingly not super food-motivated, which is a nice break for my humans because my little sister is known as The Kibble Monster. She’s got a one-track mind for carbs. I’m entirely affection-driven.

What a gorgeous cat! And I laughed out loud at some of the answers as well as the photos. Very unique poses!
Amy, I absolutely love Fritz! What a character and so adorable, too. I’m not surprised at all that he went home with you. My cats have really helped me, especially while I’ve been sick, I bet Fritz is like that, too. It cracks me up how much he loves the fireplace! Expressive cats are the best ❤️ thanks for sharing him with all of us!
