She was such a love — it was a wonderful way to wake up this morning to @MeowStack featuring our Willow!

Thanks for reading a little bit of her story, Pamela! 18 years with her gives us so many heartwarming memories —

Oh Willow 🥹 I’m so happy for your full life. You looked a bit like my Anita Jean - I’ll remember to cherish the time my 12 year old torbie have together. I hope she makes it to 18 like you did

Thanks for reading some of Willow’s story — there are so many over nearly two decades!

I hope that Anita Jean and Churro have many many more years making your and their merriment!

I just read your post about “The Fortune Cookie Curiosity” (my take), an Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland kind of tale, and loved it!

Keep on keepin’ on!

Clearly Willow is (was) magnificently beautiful and so brave, crossing that street to escape a bad domestic situation. Then what a loved full life you and fur babies shared with her♥️ I still have 10 of my indoor herd and know each inevitable loss will be gut wrenching as every past loss was😿

Sharon, thank you for your kind and compassionate words; Willow and all those who passed before her brought us such happiness.

I feel a part of me without furry companions is like that one lost piece of a beautiful puzzle. It remains in full view on the table unfinished — can’t put it back in its box and can’t preserve it because it isn’t complete.

I am unsure whether or not I can withstand another loss — and still feel conflicted when I see others with their happy cats and dogs, tails up, tails wagging and both human and feline/canine smiling.

I wanted you to know that I am beginning to venture into your writings. We share a common bond in caring for cats, both domestic and feral, as well as a desire to write —

My story is in its infancy, despite having started it twice in two decades. I am four chapters in now — the farthest I’ve come in all these years.

Thank you for taking in the “strays” and sharing a safe space with them. You’re a good soul!

PS ~ I am grateful to @MeowStack for choosing to showcase Willow’s story — the engagement by others is so heartfelt and gives me great comfort.

Thank you, @wildflower! She was the last of all our feline and canine companions, after having them all through my childhood and adulthood.

We just have "Fergus" now (he's in the photos) and he's enough (for now)!

It's just too heartbreaking to lose them even though we were able to have her share our lives for 18 years...

I believe that. Having them is the best, losing them the worst. Mine is 7 now and I don’t want to (and can’t) imagine living without him. But knowing they live the best lives they can live makes it a bit easier.
